Is there one bike that you've always wanted but never had?

By far the best of the bunch to ride was the KH400. The Honda was dreadful.
The Suzuki felt a bit Lardy and the Yam was quickest.
That's exactly how I remember them. The Super Dream was just a turd of a bike from that period when Honda went for what they called Eurostyle which basically meant they all looked the same which would have been fine if they didn't all look bland and horrible.

The Suzuki triples were all lardy and lacking in performance, the RD Yamahas were great fun to ride and fast but in my totally unbiased opinion there's something about a Kawasaki triple that makes them just that little bit special.

I also had a GPZ550, the first Unitrack model before they put some of the instruments on the tank and it was a lovely bike to ride and could leave any British 750 for dead which upset most of my dinosaur friends who insisted on having British 750s. For £1,800 brand new it was an absolute bargain (thumbs)

Blimey, had forgotten the GPZ550, we had the first model twin shock but we painted it banana yellow and black. What ruined old school for me was riding one of the first GPZ600r models, it handled and stopped for starters.

I had the original TDM850 and it was a decent bike but spoilt by the gear change and I think my Versys 650 is very similar but a better bike overall. Also had a mint XT 500 which I wish I had never sold (mainly because I only got £1150 for it and now it would be £4000 easy) however it had terrible brakes and suspension and looked loads better than it rode, though it hand plenty of grunt. The bike I have always wanted was a GSX1100ET as I used to watch them drag racing and they always looked and sounded great whilst scorching down the drag strip.

I still think this is a great looking bike...and dare I say it way ahead of it's time in 1991?

I loved my DT175MX that I saved up for about 5 years to buy on my 17th birthday. I think it cost £690. Enjoyed a Maico 250, but even when I was young it was too much bike for me. Always wanted an IT200, rode a couple owned by friends and at the time it was just perfect. I'm sure it wouldn't be the same if I got one now.

Nothing will ever be the same as those carefree years when I used to ride all over the NYM on the DT with only the occasional glare from the "blue cagoul mob". But hey, ho upwards and onwards.

Another thought: Belstaff ain't what it used to be!
