This is the best ride report ever, (thumbs) just enough story and photos to keep you wanting more. Can't wait to go back to the pyrenees next year.

Not a bad idea Mick, but although the HISS is pretty laid back it's not a chill out zone ... (thumbs)

PS - away from the Pyrenees, the HISS Challenge in Teruel is going to live up to its name - I survey two ace 'Nemesis' trails yesterday ...

We missed out on visiting Castillo de Loarre in 2014 due to lack of time, so this time thought we'd be okay and see the castle, wrong as the castle didn't open till 1000. However took some pictures from the outside

Then off down the hill and a little off route detour into Ayerbe for fuel, and we work out they're doing 70mpg which we thought was alright considering their load and terrain covered. Back on the route with some road work and come across two little deer running along side the road, hear us and dart off into the schrubbery. As the day progresses so does the landscape, colour changing to much lighter sand colour, with occasional water

We then neared the Bardenas Reales. as it was getting late decided to overnight before crossing in the morning. The Garmin found a b&b right on the edge, ideal we thought to save putting up tents again. I went to check us in and found it was just a refuge :pinch: It consisted of a concrete room with concrete shelf/bed and non lockable door, which had allowed animals entry and they had messed it up a bit. I was thinking it needs a bit of tidying and it'd be fine, Roy later told me he was not keen, but could see I was and went along with it - cheers Roy.

We then heard some planes overhead and saw four jet fighters doing circuits around the desert for some time, going then coming back again. It appeared two were low and fast chasing each other and the other two were higher up and appeared to be slower - maybe the two high up were watching/reviewing the two below dog fighting? Best picture I could get of them
