A Bee flew into my lid... Not an urban myth anymore
I've heard it said - and I've had various critters bounce off my face / neck over the decades... but this weekend I finally did sufer the ignominy of having a bee, fly into my lid - get wedged between sponge and skin - and proceed to fire everything it had into my face
He then broke his own abdomen off - and buried it in the side of my lids sponge - whilst I desperately tried to find somewhere to stop - whilst not falling off - with my wife on the bike - doing about 80mph up the A90.
Striped little tw*t! Lol

Are you admiting to riding at speeds in excess of the national speed limit? Or were you referring to wasp doing 80mph?
Or maybe combined collision speed?

My wife has had to pick the sting out of my face before now, that'll teach me to keep the visor down

I'm estimating that the bee was doing 10 mph

Worse thing had me
yep a wasp !!
on the rare occasion i didnt put the neck tube buff thing on it crawled around the jacket collar which freaked me out, made my wriggle and the bloody thing stung me repeatedly till i squashed it against my neck, i had lumps for weeks after!!
i go everywhere with a buff now ! no more rare occasions, ever.

Hit a wasp in an open face and got stung on the cheekbone and also had a bee get blasted under the internal dark visor in an Xlite and sting me on the forehead just above my eye...but the worse was playing on a small dirt bike when I was younger at a rally in an open face and hitting a bumble bee giving it some bifters - me doing 30 BB doing approx 30 MPH - combined impact of 60MPH on my cheek bone - head snapped back and let go the bars and flew off the back... bike carried on and wedged in a hedge with no damage and stalled - I had a black eye and had to ride home with roadrash on the buttocks... dangerous things these flying thingies... and the Bee...well lets say that had to be cleaned off before I could even start to open my eye as it wa s glueing it shut!

Maybe the bee thought you were a nice orange flower?
