Another for Takoda and also Haggsbank where we hold the Countrymen Rally. Danny is a good mate and knows some excellent places to visit locally

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, sorry about the delay.

I'm still torn between Wales and Yorkshire but erring towards Hendre Mynach as a base for a couple of nights to explore Snowdonia and then trying to find somewhere to use as a base for a couple of nights near Brecon. Or maybe Brecon first, then Snowdonia, work my way back up.

Thanks again! (thumbs)

If I had a few days off to go camping this is where you would find me

http://www.sunartcamping.co.uk

A great place for a couple of days a good rideout to get there and a few places to play when you get there
and the owner Tim is a top bloke and a biker himself so if you need any ideas

Either way would work, been camping and did a small amount of touring in both areas once and want to go back so I'm going to drag my wife down there as soon as we get a long weekend free.
Being self employed does have it's advantages but when you have shed loads of work on you really need to get on with it and forget about time off!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I've had the maps out and with your suggestions managed to plan enough riding and sightseeing to last me a few trips.

I've reined in the ambition a touch and I have booked myself in at Haggs Bank for 3 nights (Tues, Weds, Thurs) to use as a base next week and will be day tripping from there. It leads me on nicely from the Overland Event with a night at home in between so hopefully I'll be rammed with inspiration and raring to go!

Planning on visiting the lakes, definitely doing the Kielder Forest Drive, and whatever else takes my fancy at the time.

If anyone is going to be in the area and wants a brew or someone to ride with, just holla!

Thanks again fellas

Steve
