We should agree to differ and still be mates.
We can agree on that can't we. (thumbs)
EDIT: Afterthought: Democratic but not necessarily fair. But we had to stop somewhere and to check every non UK passport holders eligibilty would be too big a task. It was hard enough getting people ro register as it was. I was even refused initially after a house move.

Apparently, only 400,000 of those 3 million signatures are actually eligible to vote.-Ralph- wrote:1.3 million votes won the referendum. "So what" then. We can just ignore that, yes?ScottT wrote:3 million signatures on a petition, so what there were 1 million signatures to get Clarkson back on Top Gear.

Re: EU. In or out?
Why are the in voters still mithering about the result?
The voting was done and finished with days ago, but some people simply will not accept the result. If this were a local or general election, would these people be demanding a new round of voting if the candidate of their choice did not win?
OK the result was close, but there was a definite winner and loser. That's it. Finished.
Constant moaning and carping achieves nothing other than to make these moaners look like nothing more than bad losers.

Of course, we can indeed, so long as we can be honest with each other and ourselves. The government excluding people who should be eligible from the vote isn't your fault.Old Git Ray wrote:I think so, you obviously don't.-Ralph- wrote:

If we do end up having another referendum on it for whatever reason though, I'd like to see it based upon UK residency, not based upon nationality, there is lots of easy ways to verify that from the voters role for local elections, through to national insurance numbers. Everyone who lives in the UK is affected by the decision. EU nationals more so than anyone else.
My wife after marrying a British person, buying a house and living here for 20 years, working all that time and paying tax, and having a British child under 18 who can't vote for himself and whose future she has to consider and speak on his behalf, I think she's entitled to a vote.

A second referendum (which won't happen) would give the leavers who are intelligent enough to now realise how badly they were misled, a chance to rethink....
Re: EU. In or out?
I was just about to complain about the EU and post about how I can't buy 100w bayonet pearl bulbs (for my shed) in my local supermarkets but I looked online and you can buy them for 'rough service', apparently. £6.68 for 10 including delivery.Dutchgit wrote:with all that health and safety crap put upon you by unelected european bureaucrats ! :laugh:Sleepy wrote:You're assuming that the Brits would be allowed to change the bulbs...Chunkychops wrote:How many Brits does it take to change a broken lightbulb?

The future's bright. The future's 100w. (thumbs)
Edit: which means I can hold off buying those glasses, for another year, when I'm fiddling with my Transalp's carb jets.
I've no idea how to add a signature.
