Got very fond memories of my old FJ1200, good to see one being used as intended ie mile munching! First thing I did with mine was to rip out the abs, made the bike 25 pounds lighter. Would definitely consider another one. (thumbs)

FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Post by FJ1200 »

Thanks all. She (the bike) does exactly what a bike should do. Granted I won't be doing any off road stuff but I probably wouldn't if I had a dedicated adv bike. My leg as are far too short for that sort of stuff so the bike is a no compromise machine. It does what it should do really well. Got lots of sensible mods to make it better than designed and I have no need to change it.

Now I have to think about the next ones. Probably South Wales

Was on the FJ/FJR forum when I had mine under the name of Nix. Did a Cat n Fiddle video on the FJ around 2010 ish and stuck it on Youtube. If you go to Youtube and search for 2nix2 it should still be there in the listing. Had the touring screen option which was one of the best screens I've ever had, coupled with that silky smooth top gear roll on, it was a fantastic bike!

Mine is a 1989 3CV - pre ABS. Best mod was to fit Blue Spot Calipers at the front. I can stop it releably now :)

Many people claim that the FJ1200 was the daddy to the FJR. Personally, I think it was more of an early incarnation of a Fazer 1000.

Chain Drive
Half fairing
Stonking Engine
Comfortable
etc

(thumbs) The mighty Fazer is indeed a jack of all trades bike, I love mine.
