Re: BMW F800 GS
I agree 1200's a great bike and good for a pillion, but 800 is manageable anywhere and everywhere, can't wait until June to get to Portugal for North to South Trans Portugal. Could ride all day on this machine.

Re: BMW F800 GS
Now then. I had the 800 and traded up to 1200gsa. Really liked the 800 in every way. But when I tried the gsa I thought it was better in almost every way - barring off road! I thought I was pretty quick on the 800 but the 12 is smoother, faster, carries a pillion better and has a COMFY SEAT! Hallelujah.
Haven't tried the gas on any serious off road as I can't afford to drop it (thumbs)

Re: BMW F800 GS
here is my 09 f800gs. Its a great all round bike. It has plenty of issues, mostly resolved with expensive modification. The essential and common modifications have all been listed, so will forgo mentioning those.
My favorite mods have to be:
De-Cat exhaust pipe, and slip on pipe with dyno-jet power commander for the fueling and tune.
Hyper-pro fork springs for handling, they reduce front end dive and improve braking. A full suspension set up would be nice but too expensive.

Can't deny it. BMW built a bloody good bike when they screwed the 800GS together. (thumbs)

I know! needless in Europe.
you have some nice additions on ya GS, have you had any regrets or issues with the camel?
can you notice the handling difference?
I have seen them contact the swingarm, ADV were looking into this, have you ever had any issues with that?
I assume it is from rally and jumps rather than street or ADV riding.
Also do you run a fuel filter between it and the main tank?
I plan to run a camel with filter for filling up in Africa during a long tour.
It appears to be a rare mod' here in the UK, so I appreciate the info'
