Re: Lowering Suspension - Rear Shock
My WR250R is still tall for a trailie--I tried a lowering link and it completely messed up the rear damping(which is marginal anyway). I have a plan (despite local reshimming) to fit the Race tech gold valve kit plus a lowering spacer--they have plenty of experience in the US on this bike. I currently have a great seat concepts low seat and I'm running a Hyperpro "lowering" spring--essentially progressive. Its actually pretty close but I want to get it better if I can. I've dropped the forks through to maintain fore and aft balance line-and I don't see a problem with this as long as it doesn't clash on full bounce as it doesn't change the rake angle or trail.
Re: Lowering Suspension - Rear Shock
thanks guys for the advice.
the bike is actually a KTM 690 Rally Factory Replica and these bikes are huge for my 32 inch legs...
I know few guys who have lowered the shock professional and the handling hasn't been affected.

Given the value of the bike  wouldn't it be advisable to go to a KTM specialist
like Patsy Quick or Pyndon for advice?
Not exactly a cooking 690 is it!
(If it's like the one I sat on, the width of the bike adds to the height problem.)
