Being in Scunny, Hull is my closest ferry port but the prices are ridiculous e.g.
Going to Europe for my trip to the Izi meeting. Ferries wanted for out on 11th May and back on 18th May
Hull via P&O = £300+
Harwich = £156
That's a lot of petrol or food. Alright it's a 4 hour trip to Harwich instead of 1 hour to Hull but I still get a good night's sleep both ways

Re: Booking Ferry to Amsterdam
Aye North Sea Ferries can cost a bomb.
We're going away on them next week, for a week in Holland with the kids.
We live in Grtr Manchester now, but are from Hull, and all our family are there - so its hugely convenient to drop the dog off etc...
But I was quite happy with the price I got this time, a return trip, family of 4, with a car, at totally convenient times / places, with an outside cabin, and all the meals etc, was £450 return - in the Easter Hols....
The kids will LOVE it!
One thing I do with P&O is book really early - and ring them up - I got an extra 20% off - by asking!
I only booked the bog standard basics, no extras etc - then added the meals and what not later on, next payday. That way, I got the fare at the early bird price.

Good advice there Phil which I will follow in futurePhiliptigerrice wrote:Aye North Sea Ferries can cost a bomb.

We've been to Holland three times to the Landal green parks and for 4 in a car I don't mind paying as the short journey to Hull means I can work all day and yhen we're away.
But paying pretty much the same price for one bloke on a bike is taking the p*ss
