africa twin for sale in stafford
Re: africa twin for sale in stafford
You could buy one of the last new ones in 2003 for £5500. (thumbs)
Re: africa twin for sale in stafford
Im not saying this has happened here but on ebay you have to be carefule that they have not had people bidding it up, that's the trouble with auction you don't know if your paying market value or if someone has bidded it up and hope to get someone to top the bid..
I know a bike shop that does this, and im sure there are others, shops and private sellers, how many times have you seen a bike fetch strong money only to be re-listed again..

I am surprised that people are willing to pay this amount of money for this bike

That's some price if it's genuine bid....I 'only' paid £5500 new for my @ in 2002. Plus my other @, an excellent '98 model with 14k miles, cost a realistic £3.3k three years ago and that was from a Honda dealer! But good luck to them, value's in the eye of the beholder etc.

That's the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shitMonster wrote:NOTE: THIS BIKE WILL BE ON DISPLAY AT CREWE HONDA FROM FRIDAY 12th FEBRUARY TO COINCIDE WITH THERE OFFICIAL HONDA CRF1000-L AFRICA TWIN OPEN EVENING ON 18th FEBRUARY 2016.
When did spelling become so bad in the UK - the much misunderstood "Their"
Also akin to "there" and "They're" ... just a pet-hate of mine (nothing personal)
Like "Too" expensive ... see above
I don't do exercise, if God had wanted me to bend over he would have put cake on the floor
Re: africa twin for sale in stafford
I did enjoy my Africa Twin but it was not perfect.
Not a great deal of room when carrying a pillion ,i.e. pillion foot pegs are to close to riders and the seat needed to be a little longer .
The frame is prone to rusting.
The linkage will seize up if not stripped and greased regularly . Regulator needs more air flow to it.
Fuel pump can also be a issue .
Wheel rims rot from the inside out….
Some AT's being advertised have had wheels painted or powder coated . Makes me wonder what the condition of the inner wheels are.
The biggest expense is.. if there is excessive wear on the gear box output shaft . This can end up costing upwards of £800 to fix. I believe this is caused by using aftermarket front sprockets which are harder than the Stock Honda ones, thus damaging the output shaft .
I missed the feel of the engine on my AT, but because I could no longer get a new one I bought a new Transalp 700cc instead . Which is so better than the old AT @ everything but the looks.

A tad expensive, but Stafford Motorcycles have always sold their Africa Twins for top dollar.
At 6,000 miles not even run in yet, someone will buy it I suppose.
Good luck with the sale, it is a tidy AT.
