They should also have to spend a few hours in the cab of a fully laden Articulated vehicle, just to see how much further the stopping distances are over a car and to also understand exactly what blind spots are.

I do try but being followed round the M25 by 40 tons of truck about six feet from my bumper suggests not all truck drivers know either
Being governed to just 55mph maybe they just need to get past?
So it's ok to whinge about shortening your stopping distance but perfectly acceptable to drive so close to the car in front all they can see is SCANIA in the rear mirror?

Is it possible to expand on how you did so much damage to your wrist? What sort of speed you were travelling at?

Glad to hear it didn't turn out worse than it did.

Who's whinging? I merely pointed our that it would benefit everybody if they were to spend an hour or two in a cab so that they can understand how such a vehicle moves especially under load, just as it would be beneficial to do a CBT. I think it was you that turned it into a whinge moaning about trucks up your arse on the M25, personally I always pull back to allow a decent stopping distance but if bone heads choose to jump into that gap because they think they're more important than me then so be it, my trucks bigger than their car, I don't get hurt.

I was travelling at 30 when I anchored on the front end slid throwing the bars down to left I then put my left foot down and kicked down whilst thrusting the handle bars with my left hand causing the damage

What do you think about trucks doing a 5 minute overtake? It seems the a14 is a constant stream of trucks overtaking truck... just iiiiinnnnnnnccccccrrrrrrrreeeeedddiiiibbbbbllllllllyyyyyyyy slowly. Again and again.
I went to the Caribbean on holiday with my wife last year.

Jamaica?

No, she wanted to.

Personally I think they're really inconsiderate, but when you're governed to 55 mph not really surprising. it's amazing how many times the A14 gets mentioned for this, and yet trucks getting stuck behind cars doing 40mph on a motorway never gets mentioned, odd that.

To be honest doing my job is one of the most thankless jobs in this country, we get abused, threatened, attacked and worse and for what? delivering food, clothing and, yes, even motorcycles to people and all for crap money. I wish that we were more unified as an industry and would stand together and stay at home for a few weeks, the country would come to a grinding halt and maybe then we might get appreciated.

We are not perfect, Christ I know that, and I make mistakes, I may make a silly manoeuvre and cause someone to brake occasionally, we all do it, trucks, cars AND even bikers but if you spent as much time on the road as me you would not believe the moronic behaviour of some people, they all seem to have a death wish.

And don't get me started on the people of London, they charge us a fortune to deliver their products and then shoo us from their city when they have what they want? Really?

I have to say that driving in Europe is totally different, they understand that we provide an essential service and in turn provide us with decent, fit for human services.
Thank you for reading, you don't like us, i get that, so for me it's end if subject.

Amen brother!!! I had some cretin on the A34 overtake me before Christmas. As the traffic had come to a stop on the nearside lane coming off for Oxford I pulled out behind the car. I had my indicator on before he reached me, but he didn't let me out (now there's a surprise) so he knew I was pulling out. As soon as I pulled out he slammed and I mean SLAMMED on his brakes as he decided to join the queue... There wasn't enough space for him to push in as he intended. He came to rest blocking the outside lane with his car at a 45 degree angle behind the queue... How I never ran over the top of him is a mystery, I thought his time was up.... People forget the roads are OUR workplace.
