i was thinking of doing some autumn camping this year. might sound a bit stupid but i want to camp in N.Wales so i can ride around when the sun goes down....be some good photo ops. (BIKE did a feautre ages ago about riding in scenic places at night)

as for warmth.....easy - just have a kick ass fire at the camp site :P (i only ever camp at sites where i can have fires)

you sure you wanna camp in winter..I`ve done it a few times even up mountains in the snow   all you get is a sence of enlitenment because your heads so cold the brains stopped thinking straight..

What about the golden swan at wilcott they even have a room for hire..we could do a southern campout style..sleeping bags on the bar floor..B) B) .

I dont mind real cold like -10c but dry air..but wet damp no thanks my bones couldnt take it ..

It's probably suicidal, but dependant on dates I could be in for this one :)

Jim
I thought we did all that last weekend...although we didn't have the cold.
The Chequers certainly fits the bill for sitting around a log fire in winter with beer in hand but I think Hurst View is shut during the winter for camping. I will ask around.
Stick me on the list

I will Clive, we got the BBQ now and I know a great bloke that could supply some wood for the fire. ;)

The New Inn at Church Knowle had a small site bit it looked like it could be very wet :( and not sure if fires allowed

Hurst would be ideal :) if we can and people are happy to head there again :)
