Hi all, well due to work and weather I've not been out much lately so it was great to get out on the bike today. I decided to head over to Carr bridge as it had been in the news lately due to being endangered during the current flooding and I was glad to see the almost 400yr old bridge was still intact!
I went via Lochindorb, where the freezing fog took the temp down to -3c, the fog gave an eerie effect over the moor and made for some cracking photos!
I then headed down to Aviemore and up the mountain to see how the skiing was going at the Cairngorm mountain range. The car park was absolutely jam packed! So I think we can assume the ski season is now underway here in the Highlands!
I took the back road home by Nethy bridge, following the river Spey which is where I stopped for a brew. The temp didn't move most of my run today, started off -2c, dropped to -3c in the fog and back in Elgin at 3.30pm it was -1c!
120 miles today, mostly through the Cairngorm national park, it was chilly, heated grips on full most of the day. but a cracking run was had. Admittedly, my feet were bloody freezing and my hands were sore at one point due to the cold. But the photos today made it well worth the pain.
As a side note, I went in past Willie Young motorcycles for a chat as Honda Ecosse were in touch, their demonstrator Africa Twin's due in on Tuesday so I asked Willie to chase mine! Photo's soon I hope!
Any way, here's a few pics from today, stunning, absolutely stunning!

Nice report Jim,you are nuts though! I don't know about Moray but in Aberdeenshire they aren't gritting unclassified roads anymore.Even in my car with winter tyres I could feel it squirming about yesterday afternoon.Glad to see the auld brig at Carrbridge is still standing! (thumbs)

Thanks for braving the cold, you thankfully are raving and the Triumph looks so at home with her winter boots.
I hope Willie hurries up with your new steed, it would be such a pity to miss out on some of the first snow photos (thumbs)
