If you put it together yourself which is not too dificult:-
Doner R80 / R100 ..............1800
Tank................................900
Forks & Front Wheel.................300
Seat, odds & sods...................500
So about 3.5k could do it.
Lightness is everything.

Lightness with Grunt is a Scratcher!

An Adventure is not a tank transfer.

I like the look of them old Airheads but having spoken to a mate of mine who specializes in them I'll pass. He said to me: It's like a Land Rover, you have to work on it to make it work
It'll end in tears I tells ya.

Well, there's an R80 GS paralever Kalahari currently on Evilbay for just shy of £16K - which is a bit optimistic

And the one in the pic here is the more exclusive & sought after G/S monolever model.

I know a Belgian mate of mine sold a Marlboro/Playboy Gaston Rahier Paris Dakar replica a couple of years ago for 25000 euros

Well it might be but it could be any of the early Mono's modified.

When did you last see a road worthy R80 G/S for £1800, or is there a cheaper R80 model it can be based on?
I'd like one of these in the collection but it would have to be usable (Nice pics J'boxer).
would the rear shock need changing as well? Is the engine the same? single seat?

I think there is a build report on the one Phil has seen on the web somewhere.
