If you plan on visiting the high Atlas or Midi Atlas then don't go in February. A lot of the trails will not be passable due to snow.

I,ve done quite a bit of Morocco backpacking and have done the Atlas mountains, the goal of this trip is to ride my moto to Essaouira to watch the sun set over the sea from the battlements of Essaouira. Simples B)

Hi Al, I could be interested but probably wouldn't be able to manage more than 2 weeks. I could possibly arrange having the bikes shipped to Alicante for a reasonable cost, my brother works for a Spanish fruit importers in the UK and their trucks are often looking for return loads. We've used them several times before and it worked really well, cheap flight to Alicante , taxi to warehouse, pick bikes up, and youre off. Would probably return via Santander ferry. Have been to Morocco a couple of times but last time was 2003 on an old R80GS Basic. Drop me an email if you're interested, I'll pm you my email.

I think they'll all much of a muchness, but Malaga city is really lovely and the ferry terminal is right at the centre so if I needed a night's stay at either end of the trip that would be my choice.

Too true indeed - try heading further south and watch it from the Hotel Bellevue in Sidi Ifni - a surreal town! - we were there back in about '93 travelling by Renault 4 - by far the best car for Morocco then - as now???

Never enough time and so much to see and experience.

Previously a VStrom 650, and a KTM SMR 950, currently XT600E with many mods. And now a F800GS Trophy since the KTM has gone.

Myself and some mates will also be in Morocco in April next year. We're booked Plymouth to Santander on tbe 3rd, returning Santander to Portsmouth on the 16th. Maybe see you there, or swap mobile numbers closer to the time in case any of us has a problem ;-)
