MT-09 Tracer - place bets now

Post by AndyB »

Yesterday morning my wife decided that because it was forecast to stay bright all day she'd use her bike for her daily commute, until it failed to start :(

She had me listen to it on the phone last night and the engine turns over ok but doesn't even give a hint of firing. It's been collected by our local Yamaha dealer this morning so feel free to place bets regarding the problem

It had fuel and apparently she could smell unburned fuel fumes coming from the exhaust.

The engine management light stayed on but I'm sure that's normal until the engine fires up.

Main dealer mmm?

It'll be the tilt angle sensor has shorted out the alternator coils and disabled the main reactor. About £1750

It's a local Yamaha dealer who we both trust but in the end the bike is still under the manufacturers warranty and they can charge whatever they like.

Warranty mmm?

There'll be nothing wrong with it, it's the way you're using it or leaving it overnight or the type of petrol you're using
