Same for the north east of Scotland. While everyone else is sitting in a queue of caravans and tour couches through Glencoe and the Great Glen I'm hooning around the empty Grampians! A more 'adventurous' route from Chepstow to Usk and return to Chepstow we did on Friday. All on surfaced (some just!) public roads.
Museum of Rural Life worth a visit, its free, open March-October.
Could be combined with the Wye valley route.
If you want to do some high roads we have done E Wales and Hay Bluff starting at Chepstow and finishing at Ross on Wye.

An alternative solution might be the Dutch OnRoute Motorkaart, which sends you over secondary and smaller roads. The new edition includes Britain. It is a routable map file that works with Garmin satnavs only. I have used several editions for three years now and am impressed. No, I don't have any financial or other interest in the company marketing it, and unfortunately their website is in Dutch only.

Agree that road is stunning. Rode it three weeks ago.Emf#53 wrote:Sorry - no gpx file I'm afraid but have a look on the map at the coast road between Weymouth and Bridport.
The views between Abbotsbury and Bridport out over the sea are spectacular - so much to see in both directions it's worth riding it both ways!
Abbotsbury is about half way between the two - lovely place to stop - there's a swannery there and sub tropical gardens as well as plenty of ye olde tea shops
Wind was blowing a hooley and felt really exposed but the views were great especially the lookout over Chesil beach.
