Helmet options - with usable peak.

Hi

I'm after a few ideas for a new helmet, I prefer proper off road/MX type helmets with a decent peak that's good for keeping the sun out of my eyes, don't laugh to much we do see the sun occasionally
I currently have a Wulfsport Prima Speed which is ok apart from the noise.

So I'd like a MX style helmet, decent peak lower noise and not too expensive either, I tend to change my helmets quite often so an Arai or similar would be a bit out of my budget.

I liked the look of the Nexx X.D1 but someone said the peak isn't much use and having looked at the price it's about £100 more than I want to pay!

The Bell MX9 Adventure looks ok but maybe the peak is a bit short, I can't find anyone local to me who stocks them to go and try one either.

Any other ideas?

I have the Airoh S4.... and while its a really comfortable lid and probably the most used of all my helmets, its damn noisy, but it became a lot quieter when i removed the peak.

I like the look of that MX9, but I've been looking at the SX1. More Motocross stylee so would have to wear goggles but it's a good price and quite lightweight...

I've got 3 S4's luv em. Not that quiet tho, but I don't know a helmet that is.

Just an idea but i used to just use black electrical tape across my visor to cut out the sun completely and even now with a lid with internal visor I still have tape over that to completely block sun from view as it gets on my nerves, this way you get the sun blocked without the added noise of a peak.

I got one of those BMW branded helmets with a peak. Very good lid. Comfortable, big vent s at the rear of the peak so the wind does not try to pull your head off at speed.
Removable lining for cleaning. All good. I'll probably be wearing it in ten years time along with my cheapo Atico jacket. (that's been washed, water proofed and patched a few times). A dealer mate did me a deal some years back. Desert Jacket, Short summer jacket and trousers for £110.00. (thumbs)
