Brake Bleed Kit
Brake Bleed Kit
Can anybody suggest a decent brake bleeding kit? I'm doing the 690 and i heard it can be a right ballache of a job without a proper vacuum kit

Re: Brake Bleed Kit
as felco says will work or just put a clear tube off bleed nipple into a container so it submerged in brake fluid , take to p of resovoir pump a couple of times top it up and so on as long as you do not let air in by letting the resovoir become empty it will be fine just keep doing it till that black shitty brake fluid you got in yours looks clear in tube easy (thumbs)
Re: Brake Bleed Kit
Cheers lads i was under the impression it was going be easier with a hand pump kit but i'll try your methods before splashing out, have you changed caliper piston seals on yours Gary? How easy to the pistons come out and back in?

Re: Brake Bleed Kit
what are you trying to do, is it change the brake fluid with out draining the system
well this it what I do, its simple and fast, and I dont need anything only a spanner
hold down the brake lever and open the bleed nut or screw, and press the brake lever down and hold it down until you close the bleed nut again, so not to let air back into the system
now might have to pump the brake lever to build up the pressure, then hold the brake lever down, and open the bleed nut let out the fluid and close the bleed nut again, then release the brake lever
keep the reservoir toped up with new fluid, and keep doing that until new brake fluid is in the system,
it not as fast as other ways, but it shouldn't take long
anyway, that's what I do sometimes

Re: Brake Bleed Kit
Replacing piston seals on front caliper and bleeding system fully through after

Re: Brake Bleed Kit
no mate shouldn't need changing for a while yet always clean the grit and muck around the calipers soon as you can after a ride ,one thing doug , check how much freeplay you got at brake lever seem to remember yours was very tight
