'MY TAKE" on adventure bike is a comfortable long distance back road tourer capable of scratching when luggage loaded, taking untarmacked roads & returning a real world fuel use figure.
Off road I want to have fun so it needs to be sub 145kgms with no luggage carrying capability, and a bike that I don't mind dropping from time to time.
This new Honda rocks my boat as an Adventure Tourer which I think is where Honda have pitched it.
Reading between the lines on this forum the true up mountain track & down rocky valley, fully luggaged wild canper Backwoodsman type of guys is probably less than 1% & their mount seems to be 350 - 650cc singles of sub 150 kgms.
Lightness is everything.

Lightness with Grunt is a Scratcher!

An Adventure is not a tank transfer.

Have to admit I didn`t like the look of the bike until I saw it in the weekly rag today (in red)(thumbs) as others have said tank too small, yes I know there are loads of petrol stations about but it`s a pain having to keep worrying about finding fuel, on my S10 yesterday I could do 190 miles before thinking about filling up (thumbs) like the fact it`s a parallel twin as I love em but surely ABS will be fitted next year whether you want it or not?
Price from £9,000 (thumbs)

Really want to see and try the bike first but pics looks great and specs seem close to what I was hoping, weight up but losing that silencer should lop off 30 kilos

New bikes have to have ABS by Law from 01/01/16. They might have a limited run of non ABS bikes depending when they come out...

Can anyone at MCN actually get things right, or even read for that matter? This article states the new AT frame is Aluminium.http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new- ... -revealed/

It clearly states on Honda's website the fame is made of steel... Honda release the specs and they still get such an important part wrong....

i think the Honda site has the typo as it looks like the engine cradle is Aluminium and the sub frame in steel
