Superbike Seventies
Some great bikes and oh, the memories (thumbs)

Re: Superbike Seventies
So where were the other Superbikes of that decade? I know it's considered fun to pick holes in British bikes but the Ducati 750SS, Moto Guzzi Le Mans and Laverda Jota were all made at the same time and apart from the Ducati being a bit fragile they were much better than anything coming out of Japan :cheer:
Nice find though.

A bit before my time, but I can still remember the first time I saw a GS1000 when I was 12.I think that's what planted the seed! (thumbs)
Re: Superbike Seventies
enjoyed that but they showed the CBX that handled like a shopping trolley and forgot the Z13 that was far superior in my humble opinion

Re: Superbike Seventies
must admit I hate the handling on the CBX when I test rode on and I got off a boxer to jump on the Hondagland wrote:enjoyed that but they showed the CBX that handled like a shopping trolley and forgot the Z13 that was far superior in my humble opinion

Re: Superbike Seventies
I rode a CBX when they were still a fairly new release and it went sideways at about 100mph on the A1 in pouring rain and that was enough to persuade me it wasn't for me. It felt like an absolute rocket at the time but a friend has one now and keeps offering me a go and I always refuse in case it just seems like an overweight, ill handling slug.
I might take my H2 out for a little spin around the countryside now that I've got over rated old bikes in my mind

Superbike Seventies
Rode my mates CBX when I had a GSXR750L scared the shit out of me! Awesome engine mediocre brakes and crap handling (think trying to turn a supertanker! ) put me off it
