well not exactly lost, but myself and my daughter are in cochem and looking for somewhere else to go before heading home on the 15th, all advice appreciated.
provisionally booked into garmish but its a six hour run minimum from here according to google.

I was there last week, went to Luxembourg after, very scenic, then overnighted in Bouillion.

Try north east and the Harz Mountains, base yourself in either Goslar or Quedlinburg and explore the region for a couple of days.

Mosel Bikes know the area very well as they are based out there and full of excellent advice; looked after us very well when we came in via Luxembourg

Nurnburgring is nothing special if your not doing a lap on the circuit (which I've never done as even that isn't is to my liking)
The Technik museums are excellent ! So much to see there ! Planes, trains,cars, machines and even space tech ! (I've been to the one in Speyer but apparently both are more or less equally good) http://speyer.technik-museum.de/

We rode this http://www.deutsche-alpenstrasse.de/en/home/ a few weeks ago and had a ball. Garmisch is on it. There are some stonking passes into Austria from it too.
