Success! - Lake District

Post by Nicoli »

Well I arrived home yesterday after taking my little Chinese 125 all the way to the lake district, and back, from Leicester.

A butt busting 11 hour journey home yesterday. Mad Hatter's Dominator also made it, and cheers to Stu who came along for a few days as well, A great trip, with great weather. Plenty of pics and videos to be sorted out and they'll be up here as soon as I am done.

You can go any where on any bike as long as you are in tune with it. I have many happy memories of lots of travel on a 125 that have never been eclipsed by the trips done on bigger bikes. Great to see you had a good trip too.

Your little bike did really well mate (thumbs)

It lost a lot less bolts than the dommie, I found another 3 had gone last night

Well done guys. I've been wondering where you have been. Can't wait to see the photos :)
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

I'll stick a quick couple of pictures on for you but leave the ride report to Nikoli, hes a better story teller than me

It was a really good week with some gorgeous roads and beautiful weather, spoilt a bit by me and Nikoli ending up spending a day each chucking up but shit happens.

Nikolis bike did exceptionally well and didn't really have any problems. I had a couple of niggles on the dommie and lost a few bolts but it was alright. However after stuffing my back trail riding with how heavy it is I think I may be looking for something a bit lighter in the future

Me and Stu did some trail riding on Thursday, see aforementioned knacked back  , I'll admit I struggled a fair bit, although I'm still pretty new, bailed on one as there was no hope in hell and smashed my balls on the tank after hitting a wall and decided to let the bike have a sleep

The dommie was fine after its little sleep apart from having to take the right hand brush guard off to release the front brake. And it did all that on road tyres :woohoo:

I've no idea where we went or what trails we did as I was just following Stu, and Jesus that man can shift

As for the bikes, nikolis chain needed adjusting and he put one bolt back in, on his Chinese bike. (thumbs)

I melted a number plate and holder, lost at least 5 bolts, had to retrieve my baffle from the street, make up a new lead for my box of tricks to get the sat nav working, had some trouble changing gear after the front sprocket cover lost a bolt and sometimes jammed the gear select, that lead to a very large sweary moment in Windermere, and had a few problems running the bike when it was cold but some redex solved that, there were probably other things as well

My phrase of the trip has been "F**K IT!"

Luckily for me Stu was kind enough to not only show me trails, help turn my lardy git of a bike round on one but also let me use his tools in his workshop/shed/mam cave/garden bungalow to sort my baffle and my sat nav, top man (thumbs)

It was a fab trip, I've been tinkering away with the first video and realised I didn't do much filming on day 1 as we tried to get the miles done.

Thought I'd chuck some pics up though.
