Since it's going to live on the road why not put good road tyres on it?

Like you, I'm 90% road and have lived with Conti trail attack 2 for a good 20,000+ miles.

Just ordered a set of TKC70 to try out. Very hard wearing, great in wet, great for that 10% dirt as long as it's not too muddy.

12,000 miles out of a rear tyre and you can't be going wrong.
I'm off on a 3 month solo trip of Europe. Can i pitch a tent in your garden? Or can you help me find interesting things to see?

I've just fitted Karoo3's to my X Challenge. They ride much better on the road than the previous TCK'80's.
When I spent a day down at the bmw off road school all their bikes (650,800,1200) run Karoo3's
I was interested to get their opinion on what tyres to fit. They fully endorsed the karoo3's, I can testify to their ability off road and their grip on road.

I'm still a big fan of the Heidenau K60. Been using them for 4 years now. Similar to the Mitas e 07.

I have just had a friend over with a bmw 1200, he has a set of Heidenau K60's on and said that now that the good weather is here and you can push the bike a bit more, the front end felt a bit too light at speed.

I put the K60 scout on my 1100 frontwheel Saturday. Been using the bike daily and feels better every mile. Not put 100 miles on it yet so I will report on it after this weekend. Used Anakees IIs previously, I was happy with them but fancied a change.
