Hi bud, my nephew also 22 ,has just bought a 125, after shopping around for the best insurance deal .they chose Carole Nash. Iv also been insured with them many years and have found them a first class company to deal with. Just a thought ,cheers Al (thumbs)

I paid £400 third party only on my first year of insurance. That was with a clean licence but a loaded London postcode. I think it was with bikesure if I rember correctly..

Carol Nash for one and bennetts for the other, 125 and 50, both come out similar at around £300 each :S

Dont use third party only...if some bugger nicks it you get fuck all...also full comp aint much more but check excess...ive used equity red star for years but had ljsence for a long long time old git now..lol

Ask if any way to reduce by extra training etc..nice bike too..

Not sure if it works with bikes, but with cars there is a thought that if you insure it with a more experienced rider as a named rider too it brings the price down.

Go third part fire and theft but preference would be fully comp.
I got reduction due never taking pillion. You could also get reduction on no night time riding. Not sure how that works in winter  No its after 9 and before 6 I think. Make sure good parking extra security and try and get on an advanced rider course.
Good too see a young rider coming through becoming a bit lonely for the older riders amongst us. We need the youth to help us pick up our bikes. Old knees and back make it harder each year.

From memory that doesn't sound too bad. I think I was paying about that with a few years riding on my Hornet (more experience but bigger bike).
The being a named rider trick works but you've got to make sure the named rider will gain no claims but if there's an accident it'll affect you both and a guy at work was 'investigated' as he was a named driver but did most of the mileage. It didn't come to anything and I think it was just an empty threat. Have you tried adding yourself as a named rider?
