New to this forum and only just bought a F650ST so new to this style of biking as well.
I'm not planning a huge round the world type adventure but my plans for this year are to ride as many roads as possible in the Lake district.
So with the fishing in mind i'm sure my bike will take me to plenty of places off the beaten track and with so many little tarns and huge lakes i'll probably carry a rod and some tackle with me.
So do any on here carry a bit of fishing tackle with you for that off chance you'll grab an hour or 2 at a deserted little pond, if so any hints and tips on the gear and how your carrying it.
Any anglers on here?

Re: Any anglers on here?
Hi Scott,
Enjoy a bit of fishing myself and always bring some kit on the bike. Basicially a cheap teliscopic rod, a small reel and about 4lb breaking strain line with a cheap paif of forceps and some spinners, all fits nicely into the pannier. Have a couple of ride reports in the Ireland section wih some pics. We caught about 12 trout on our circut of Ireland trip last year, and if my memory serves me right 27 trout on our 2013 trip to Scotland.

Yep I do got a diawa multi sec rod that fits in my pannier and reel flies and a minimum amount of tackle in a small bag about a5 size, its taken a few years of mountain biking/trout fishing to pare my tackle down but got there in the end.

Plastic, expanding document tube takes my travel spinning rod. Longer rod goes in a more substantial tube which sits on passenger footpeg and attached to pannier rail.

When i was a kid, the fsie was the only transport i had and would travel all over the northwest to fish matches.
Like yourself i can always find the space for a tele and real and i few fits. Great to eat what you catch when you are wild camping.
