I gave up on newspapers. Buy one or two a week now, compared with 2 a day.

Insurance was same, new customer on line could get cheaper than renewal, which led to a nice conversation when they rang wanting to renew my business. Told them I got it cheaper elsewhere. How: On line. Oh. How much? About 15% cheaper. Who is it with? Yourselves! Not only that, because I was on holidays for a few weeks I set the new policy to not come into effect until I got home.

Magazine freebies...easy. Take out a new sub in wife/child/nephew's name and let the old one lapse. Works all the time for me. Also you can do the same with a utility account with special offers for new customers.

What ABR could do is make the offer available to existing subscribers renewing for 24 months instead of 12 months. Then both sides gain.

I have an ongoing permanent subscriptions but to avail of your TOMTOM offer, I have to cancel and then open a new sub

This is hardly the way to keep subscribers in difficult times
Jeez... I cannot belive what I'm reading here, it does sound a tad "ungrateful". Loads of companies do this; Sky, Insurances, the old lady down the road who runs the local Sweet Shop...

I can say that I'm very pleased with my Subscription and just because I "missed-the-boat" does not mean that I want, or, deserve, any more or any less rights or privileges. This really does smack of "something-for-nothing" and it, too, feels rather childish in the vain of "they're getting something and I want one too".

I mean, how many here already have a Sat-Nav? and just want to be able to take advantage of something that is a means of getting hold of a "cheap deal" that is, really, a "gift" to establish a wider audience, and not a free-for-all bargain giveaway?

Can anyone tell me if the subscription ends after 12 months or does it automatically renew? Also has there been confirmation that if I let it renew I won't get the TomTom offer code?
Thanks in advance..
