Africa Twins. Are they still out there?
I've a working trip meter, a kilometre one, but they can be changed to miles.
Worked five years ago when I sold my @.

Sounds interesting. How much would you like for it?

From June 1994. Coming back from Spain with Brittany Ferries. Our first ever foreign bike trip. So good to have the Africa Twin back again.

Re: Africa Twins. Are they still out there? UPDATE
UPDATE...
Well, after re-ownership for a few weeks my Africa Twin has had a good going over in the workshop.
The suspension linkages were a bit tight, ie seized, a new chain and sprocket kit fitted.
New proper but pattern rear indicators. Oil and filter change, air filter, fork oil.....new piston seals and pads in the front brakes. Rear caliber serviced. Loads of other bits checked and lubed.
I am waiting for a standard exhaust and rear mudguard (number plate holder) to arrive.
A genuine rear rack has arrived as has a second hand trip computer.
And to make sure it's all good and mechanically sound....
Hopefully by next week an MOT will be done.
And then to Tunneruk for an idea of what a frame paint and bodywork repair and repaint will cost.
Anyway, it's getting there. And I'm still really chuffed to have my old bike back (thumbs)

Re: Africa Twins. Are they still out there? UPDATE
Brill post. I love my RD07. Had three RD04's and sold them before I discovered I can't be without an @T in the garage.

Re: Africa Twins. Are they still out there? UPDATE
I did 60,000 miles on my '99 AT from new, such great bikes.
Definitely greater than any spec sheet would have you believe!
This time, I'm going to keep it!!

Re: Africa Twins. Are they still out there?
Latest update for you re me and my old Africa Twin.
It is still looking much the same but is now fitted with a standard Honda silencer and not the ??? End can that was on it.
New rear indicators to replace the Givi Wingrack items that had been mounted to the rear mudguard.
The bike has had a good going over, new oil and oil filter, air filter, new chain and sprockets, unseize they rear suspension linkage, clean rear caliper, clean front caliper and fit new seals and pads, change fork oil, change coolant, check wheel bearings and head bearings, sort sticking rear brake leaver, and lots of other checks.
I have also sourced a replacement trip computer, silencer guard, rear carrier and rear mudguard. Mostly secondhand.
And today.......MOT, wahoo. Carried out at the very dealership that I purchased the bike from new back in 1994.
By the very chap that PDI'd it before I rode it away all those years ago.
So, riding it......it's great, cold, but great.
I definitely want to go on a longer trip on it like back in the day.
But first, I think the cosmetics. With a few cracked panels, a melted side panel from the 'lovely' silencer that had been fitted and the frame and Black smoothrite on the exposed bits of the White frame??? it needs a refresh.
TUNNERUK..........HELLO........
