2014 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200

Post by DirtYarpie »

I purchased the new Super Tenere in April this year and have done about 12,300km to date. I haven't seen much on the forum regarding the Super Tenere. I'd welcome any comments from fellow riders. My previous (recent) bikes have been a BMW F650GS, Kawasaki KLR650, BMW 650 X-Country and a BMW1200 GSA.

A week after purchasing the bike I left on a 8,600km trip from port Elizabeth to Malawi. The only problem I had was a loose headset which was corrected by the dealer after I got back. Nothing else related to rideablity/performance since then but I have noticed that the metal cooling pipe running transversally across the front of the engine appears to have a lot of superficial surface corrosion.

Mine is also going there but I have since fitted a fender extender and this seems to have
slowed it down
