The Glebe farm breakfast posse keeps growing and it was good to see old and new faces lining up for the hosts award winning bacon and sausage. Twelve riders and one pillion (hope you had a good ride out Hannah) done their best to clear the kitchen stock and were soon on the road.
The plan was to check out the venue for the ABR Midlands Rally camp site and then head south into the Badlands of the Cotswolds to check out a few green lanes culminating in a coffee drinking frenzy up on Broadway Tower.
So, first stop the proposed campsite. And as you'd expect if 12 bikes pulled up outside your pad, Charles the farmer reached for his shotgun and came out to confront us. But Charles is a nice guy, instead of filling our combined asses with buckshot he said 'take the lads to have a look'.
The advance guard make it to the ABR camp site
We never did find out who was in the solitary tent on 'our turf' but how delighted they must have been to be woken up in the wilderness with a posse of bikes.
Magnum and the Hannah checked out the family section.
The rest of the lads decided to 'head them off at the pass'. Not sure who or what they were heading off but I've been wanting to type 'heading them off at the pass' for a while and this looked like my best opportunity.
It really is; pick a spot and ride to it, great fun.
A few of the lads had previous commitments and two riders experienced GS growing pains – hope the bikes are on the mend – so a smaller but perfectly formed group headed deeper off the map into uncharted Middle England and our first green lane.
Some riders had thought ahead and colour coordinated with the seasonal crops.
And then we crossed over into Equatorial Guinea
To be continued.....

And went foraging in the undergrowth
Before emerging back in the fields of gold.
A quick ride through some back lanes and we found that we'd been ousted off our second green lane by a bunch of Rotary Club octogenarians on a charity walk. A decision was made to give it a miss, and I'm sure it was the right choice, there looked to be more 'disgusted from Tunbridge Wells' hiking the trails than there are people in Tunbridge Wells.
Anyway the disappointment was short lived as we took on the next green lane and headed up into the rare atmosphere on the high altitude north Cotswolds ridge
And then we took a two fag break in a shady nook. How romantic.
Next up was the coffee shop at Broadway Tower where we all ended up going our separate ways.
A great morning gentlemen, hope to see you all for Sunday morning eggs and bakey soon.

Had a cracking day thanks, Its was great to meet everyone, I think on the day there was only the one bike layed down (mine) but fortunately it was on the farm playground out of sight of everyone else :S
Re: South Midlands eggs and bakey ride out Sunday 1st May
Absolutely bruddy marvelous!!
Your choice of route was inspired and was mine and Ben's first real green lane experience and given my obvious handicap I was astounded at the ease at which the bike actually worked when asked to do it.
I'd also like to thank you for your concern during the ride over the nature of the lanes and your kind assurances which turned out to be absolutely spot on.
Anyone who can should come on these rides - I will be coming again and hopefully will have the VIO POV.HD Cam installed next time as well!
Thanks again and really nice to meet you all - what a welcoming bunch!

Nice people. To the one who had all the tools to fix the gear linkage I owe you a beer sometime.
Farm is ok for playing on though. Would get my vote if I was going.

I'll have to come along to one soon, if you don't mind me bringing my RXS. You can always leave me behind on the road bits, I don't mind. Don't think the Bandit would like the off-road bits much. (pines for KTM690 Enduro)
