I wouldn't book any accomodation on your way. There's plenty of campsites and B&B's, the reason being is that you won't have any deadlines or be under any pressure to be at a certain location.

We made this mistake the first time we ever went into Europe on our bike a few years back. We had booked 3 nights in a hotel just outside Venice and it took us an age to get there from Switzerland. I think we were on the road for around 13 hours. Since then we've never booked anywhere and we've always found something.

I knew I had this somewhere. We have a laugh about it now, but at the time we'd both had enough! This is my missus as soon as we got off the bike after a long hard day on the bike.

we only planned (not booked) 1 hotel on the way, in austria, its in tyrol, didnt fancy camping 3 nights in a row (i have some health issues) im good to ride for incredible lengths without stopping and the misses has grown up sitting pillion. but will bear that advice in mind.

The price of Booze outside Norway will turn you into a drunk! Try to stay sober until later in the day or early evening and that way you will see more stuff. This is posted from experience,I frequently host my Norwegian mates and it can be a nightmare trying to keep them sober long enough to do anything!Good laugh though and I do my best to reciprocate when I visit them.Enjoy your trip matey, cheers,Bladesman.

so list of things i have done in the past 2 weeks (bear in mind i just had a knee op and cant walk so good):
made a luggage rack
bought a tank bag to fit a sat nav
fitted 12v socket
fitted fan override
fixed my temp sensor
fitted tool roll thing
changed leaky coolant reservoir hose
new wiring for indicators
planned the route down
booked hotel
fitted softer grips
fitted extra footpegs (bad knee)
fitted topbox
fitted the fork stabiliser airway thing (no idea where the old one was)
changed the right hand handlebar (it was a tiny bit loose and drove me crazy)

thats a lot of work just there.
still need to work out how to mount my walking stick, or maybe just shove it in a sidebag. will upload pics later, but now i must go and paint our apartment that we are trying to rent out!
still need to cut a little out of my luggage rack, it just touches the rear calliper when the suspension is at the bottom.
