Front pads R1200GS (ABS)

Post by R1200GS »

Hi,i am going to change the front pads on my 2005 R1200GS (ABS), but a mate said don't push the pots back as they may damage the ABS pump.He hinted you may have to open the bleed nipples to retract the pots to save any damage to the ABS pump. Surely you just push the pots back by hand like the spanish guy on you tube.

Yep that's right, remove the reservoir cap, ensure the fluid level isn't too high though and slowly push the pistons back. Whilst doing so, stop and check the fluid level so that it doesn't spill over on to your paint.
Takes 20 mins in total and that includes giving everything a good scrubbing too (thumbs)
