Seeking Modest Adventures
Hi All,
Been lurking here for a while. Must say that I am very impressed by some of the epic adventures other people seem to do ("A Pillion's View of the World etc"). I doubt I shall be tackling enything like that scale of trip but I do very much enjoy pootling around the minor roads and tracks of North Yorkshire.
Like some others I have "upgraded" from leg powered to engine powered - in my case a KLX250S (half pint motor ). I still do lots of MTBing to keep fit and because it's much more accessible than trail riding. I like to think I ride the MTB like a teenager, however I defintely ride the KLX like a grandad. One thing I have noticed is that motorcyclists get the "evil glare" from walkers etc. even more than MTBers!
I did an introductory ride with the W Yorks TRF last year, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Must admit I did not join though, because I enjoy riding and exploring at my own pace.
I am planning a C2C mini-adventure in a few weeks time and I am hoping to get some suggestions for routes.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Welcome aboard from a fellow KLX250S owner. Its an ace bike in every way.
I know what you mean about the TRF, I've joined the Somerset branch but it isn't quite what I was expecting.
Good luck with the modest adventuring

And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Wasn't C2C a car or was that 2CV? (thumbs)
I do get my Cs and Vs mixed up - phonetic similarity and all that .........
Anyway - excuse my ignorance but what is a C2C when it's about?

You could also hook up with Paul (on here) from Takoda Camping. He lives and runs the site at Kirkby Stevens.
See the thread on HUBB mini-meat for general contact details or google Takoda Camp site (thumbs) along with Danny from Haggs Bank Bunk House (also googleable - such a word?)
