I've just been to the Yamaha dealer to take a look at the new Super Tenere ES plus the older model. Mmmmmm, I think I may be sold on this bike! I know they're heavy, but ironically it felt lighter than my GSA. And a close buddy of mine has been riding one for a couple of years now, and importantly, never had any problems.
Thought I'd add this link to show what the Tenere is capable of with a relatively 'ordinary' rider in typical South African dirt road conditions.

I change final drive with 185 kkm. In November I do it again, but it was easier to repair. I had not really serious fall
In the end of the day I get help
Next day I repair cover with poxiline and in December we where able to ride again also with new cylinder protection

Almost 8 years old. Never seen the inside of a garage and still starts first time on the original battery with 50k very hard miles on it.DirtYarpie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2014 6:32 am I've just been to the Yamaha dealer to take a look at the new Super Tenere ES plus the older model.
