your supposed to remove the spacers before fitting the tyre :S and use some copper slip ...

occasionaly ...like maintenance

tip (thumbs) ..put a dab of different coloured paint on each side spacer..then they dont get mixed up

Or buy a sensibly designed bike (such as a KTM) where the spacers are interchangeable :)

presumably you have a large KTM stable?

Actually, some KTM owners are surprisingly capable, for example I can now tie my own shoelaces......

2 words:

Captive Spacers. The 18" wheel I've now got in my Tenere has them fitted and putting the wheel back suddenly becomes very easy :)

My KTM and Husaberg both have captive spacers - sensible design.

on my first GSXR750 (k6)i took the front wheel to the local dealer to have a new tyre fitted, when i got it home and tried to refit the wheel i could only find 1 wheel spacer, hunted the garage over the next few days emptying everything out to no avail. Eventually gave up and went back to the dealer to order a new wheel spacer only to be told that they only have 1 as the spindle acts as a spacer on one side. I am a Twat :pinch:
