A little over a year ago, I purchased these Forcefield Knee Protectors
http://www.forcefieldbodyarmour.com/pro ... ector/2357
I usually find that built-in knee armour moves around a lot or is not positioned correctly for vertically challenged me. A slight fall can cause the knee armour to move, resulting in a very bashed-up knee Using these, I've been able to switch between summer jeans and waterproofs with more confidence that I'm fairly protected.
But they now seem loose & no matter how tight I tighten the velcro straps, they work their way down my leg leaving my knee fairly exposed (wearing short Altberg boots). I tried putting them over my jeans but after a few stand up / sit down scenarios on the trails, still found them below my knee again.
Any ideas of how to improve the fitting again?

Hi Elle,
I'll ask one of the nice guys at Forcefield to see if they have any ideas.
Cheers

You have me worried now , i have the Forcefield Zeus model of the knee protectors , so far its fine but hoping it will remain the same / not strech , if it does i would send it back or if out of warranty might use some gaffer tape to fix it :silly:

Re: forcefield knee protectors
The Zeus is not the same as the standard limb tubes. They're unlikely to stretch and they do hold the armour on the knee whereas the limb tubes can move and twist. The zeus material is firm whereas the tubes are stretchy.ZX Raziel wrote:You have me worried now , i have the Forcefield Zeus model of the knee protectors , so far its fine but hoping it will remain the same / not strech , if it does i would send it back or if out of warranty might use some gaffer tape to fix it :silly:
I have both and the zeus are much much firmer.

I have been wondering whether it's all the cycling at the gym that's made a difference...
But I guess the stretchy fabric will eventually do just that.

+1 for getting fatter knees.Elle wrote: Any ideas of how to improve the fitting again?
You could sew a pleat into the tube to make it tighter or thread some new elastic in top and bottom.
I have some similar knee pads I got in '98, they still hold up fine although the velco straps are for too loose these days. maybe its all the hair on myknobbly knees that holds them in place.
So to sum up Elle you could try having fat, knobbly, hairy knees. Hmm, not thats the look you were going for...
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
