Amen to that! I need to touch base as well. The guy in front of me I videotaped riding through the ford on the rideout. Pm me your contact details and I'll try n pull off some video or stills. Cheers. Neil.
Make an effort

I hope the storms haven't stopped you having a great time, you had a good riding day yesterday at least. Well, till mid afternoon anyway!
I pulled out of this for my father-in-law's 70th, and missed that because I've had flu for 3 weeks!

I was second to last to leave--the weatherman had got it about right--horizontal drizzle rather than torrential rain at about 12--spent most of the morning with ear plugs in tucked up warm, cosy and dry in the tent --definitely a test of gear and patience. One slight bend in a tent pole which I probably did trying to squeeze back in with all my gear on trying to pick stuff up to load up. The hotel really looked after us--and excellent double meals on Saturday night--many thanks to Mark--lots of tall tales in comfort.
I split off from the ride out about half way through to see a few old friends at CWs--and then to Weymouth --the sun was out and it was lovely, but back up on the tops it all changed again. Today I left in drizzle/mist and 6 miles up the road the sun came out !--definitely a micro climate there!!. I was storm chasing all the way back to Peterborough--roads were awash but the rain had passed and the sun was trying--it was about 250 miles for me so it was worth waiting to avoid a wet run back--just a bike to clean and gear to dry out--I stayed dry and warm (ish!)

Thanks Mark for organising this. Last years was wet- this one was wetter! Marathon ride out.
The hotel was very good once again and the atmosphere very friendly. Good one!
