Hi,
I have one or two of the type that uses an aerosol, but it's much more Fun to make a funnel out of Plasticine
(crap at spelling) mould it round the cable and top up with your favourite flavour of lube.
However, thanks to minkyhead I like your idea it appeals to my scrap yard mind and would certainly stand a bit of further development in the shed with a beer, besides the plastercine gets all oily
