ok, amend my route then, ignore morecambe bay if its going to be busy.
how about keep to the first bit, shortest route across to wrynose and hardknott passeseses, round to see a few interesting(odd) sounding places walna scar etc, keeping to little roads round coniston a bit and across the wide windemere on the ferry (an eye watering £1.50, according to their website) for lunch somewhere and then a wide swing down through a bit of the dales.

dont want to do too busy places but not bothered too much about touristy areas, WE are the tourists too if youve never been there before! if it busies up we'll get out of dodge, i dont plan anything rigidly except to have at least 5 meals a day, solid or liquid.

hi folks, ive been following numerous the numerous threads on the boil rally.
unfortunatly im at work that weekend so cant make it.
ive been watching because it is right in my neck of the woods.
i don't want to put people off the lake district as it is a truly stunning place to ride a bike, but it is busy, the roads clogged with all manner of tourist driving at 30mph.
if i could be so bold as to offer a couple of alternative areas to look at.
firstly a short hop from the camping is the glorious tan hill inn, then into the dales,
or on towards barnard castle, high force, weardale, teasdale, northumberland, county durham,
also nearby is a lovely road from brough the middlton teasdale, then onto edmunbyers, and into northumberland, you could even get to the northumberland coast and back in a day.
i would have loved to come along and share this wonderful area with you,it truly is an amazing place to ride, just dont think its all about the lake district.
and dont forget ingleton, hawes, dent, appleby, alston, i could go on forever.
but, work wont allow it this time.
if by chance any of you are passing through ingleton and in need of help or a brew, just head for the ambulance stn; and if we are in the kettle will be on.
please feel free to get in touch if i can be of help in anyway.
paul.

If anyone fancies a long day in the saddle taking in not one, but 2, of the Nature Rally points and seeing the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, I've posted a route suggestion here.

See you all Friday :woohoo:
