Sorry - having failed to find how to formally report a post [and dismayed that the moderators had not already stepped in] I was OK but slightly disappointed by the terrorist/freedom fighter debate but now this a has slipped to straight racism. This is not acceptable you knuckle dragging imbecile.

Seadog:
I think that the Uncle Bens post was distasteful (I'd call it borderline racist but that's all) but you'd have helped yourself out a bit if you'd just posted a comment rather than reposting the whole thing.

Re: Nelson Mandela
AndyB - I agree about the repost. Edited now. It is only since posting that the report button has appeared.
Re: Nelson Mandela
Apologies if a reposted "joke" offended - wasn't the intention - certainly wasn't racist
If anyone actually bothered to LOOK at the picture, you will see facial similarities
Sure, NM achieved lots and "made a difference" - I have so much respect for the bloke, I raised £10K for South African charities including Nelson Mandella's Children Fund

What have any of those "throwing stones" done to help?
The guy was 95 years old - living on his death bed for months [if not years] so his death was hardly a surprise - what I find offensive is the 24/7 non-stop diatribe [Google it if one doesn't appreciate a finer point of the English Language] that Sky and BBC churn out in the name of news - on and on and on and on
Want to see read something that really is offensive?

Re: Nelson Mandela
Watched the video but isn`t it always the way that a few extremists tar a whole community with the same brush!
And yes the news as always overdoes it and keeps repeating the same thing over and over again.

Hardly a "few" when apparently it's happening on a nightly basis in the majority of Police "no Go" areas across all of EnglandNigel wrote:..... but isn`t it always the way that a few extremists tar a whole community with the same brush!

For "no go" read "City Centre"
Re: Nelson Mandela
Do you really believe that city centres are no go areas across "all of England"? I can accept that small parts of a couple of cities might be a bit dodgy but I think you're exaggerating the problem by a pretty large degree. The Daily Mail isn't always right :laugh:fatbert wrote:Hardly a "few" when apparently it's happening on a nightly basis in the majority of Police "no Go" areas across all of EnglandNigel wrote:..... but isn`t it always the way that a few extremists tar a whole community with the same brush!

Err - yes actually!
I used to live in Nottingham - Leicester - then Derby - all have large [and growing] areas that are very def "no go" areas - St Anns/Meadows in Nottingham .... Normanton/Rose Hill St in Derby
My 2 sons still live in Leicester - Humberstone Road / Belgrave Road - Sharia Law controlled
Best pal lives in Sheffield and refuses point blank to go anywhere near Sheffield City Centre after dusk
Good mate of mine is a front-line policeman in Manchester City Centre - Friday and Saturday night sat in riot gear waiting for it all to kick off - but wont even consider venturing into "certain parts of the city" as they put it
The Muslim video spoke of Sharia Law being almost in control in all parts of London - east - west - south - north [his words]
Bradford - ethnic controlled
Leeds - ethnic controlled
Barnsley - ethnic controlled
Birmingham - Lozells, Alum Rock, Balsall Heath and many, many other parts of Brum - ethnic controlled - I used to work there
Need I go on?
Most of this is based, not on subjecture, but on firm experience from friends and family as well as my own experiences
Re: Nelson Mandela
Well if thats the case then lucky me. I live in south wiltshire where it's actually very hard to find a non white person.
I personally don't have any issues with anybody whatever their colour, race or class. if they leave me alone then i will leave them alone.
But the biggest danger here is a lack of knowledge and reaction to a few remarks made in the press.
Who rememebers the paediatrican who was almost burned out of her house in portsmouth...somebody who a little knowledge thought she was a paedophile!
It's the same in Islam....i used to work with a muslim and had many a good debate with him about this. One thing i do remember fomr him was the reason that people give as justification for suicide bombings. it is based upon a story in the Koran..but only half the story. This is told to uneducated people who lap it up as fact....but they are not told the full text from the Koran.
I say we all need to be very careful here as we have enough problems already.
Mike

And the beast shall be huge and black, and the eyes thereof red with the blood of living creatures, and the whore of Babylon shall ride forth on a three-headed serpent, and throughout the lands, there'll be a great rubbing of parts
