There were some chronological discrepancies in those films, he had bleach blonde hair at one point, then it went 'normal' then blonde again, something wasn't quite right anyway, still enjoyed them massively though and will be getting a copy at the nec hopefully.

Comments make me thing I should buy the dvd. I have got the book, purchased from AV at the HU this summer but yet to read it.
Anyone read the book & watched the dvd? What's the verdict?

Yes its a great film and Austin is doing alot for ADV riding promoting it to show the world we dont need the "long way round" budget or back up.

Also on my solo travels i meet many people who in groups had fall outs and bust ups so to find a good group of friends is amazing.

However for me it was this short clip that made the biggest impression on me (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan & Afghanistan) and I watched this short video many times as the pictures are amazing and this was a big deciding factor & influence for me to do such a trip. in away it changed my life alittle (thumbs)

Small problem with that clip is it is not a movie , its a slide show of pictures , nice pictures i grant you, but not a film . Its so much harder to put together a movie that keeps people interested especially if its over an hour long , Austin himself admits ME was not his best but also it was one of his very early films , he has learnt alot since then just watch Mondo Sahara to see the difference in the quality

Trix i think you have miss understood me or maybe i was not to clear on my first post, i understand how much harder it is to put a film together taking weeks and months and after watching Mondo Enduro it planted the seed into my head like it prob did for many other bikers and non bikers to try to or maybe one day go on a trip like his, its everyones dream right??. it is a great film, (later i messaged Austin to tell him how great i though it was before i started my trip) (thumbs)

So i then said one day i will do a trip like that maybe next year

However after coming across the clip i posted that could possibly be carried out in one day on windows movie maker i was like "f@@k it im doing this trip"

I ditched the high payed job in Oz caught a flight back home and straight away took bike lessons and was heading East to Tajikistan before i knew it as a total novice on the back of this short clip being the deciding factor. I fully understand this clip is not a movie however it was amazing to me, i would dream of the pictures i saw until i reached the Pamir mountians myself

You could stream it on that mcn tv on your PC/ipad the other week. They were doing a free 14 day trial as well not sure if they still are.

The stills / movie is actually a tribute to Izi, Kryzs's mate who was killed shortly after their Afghan trip (from where the pictures came from) it's not a trip record as such, more a collection of shots of Izi.
