I've had a quick look at that Overland trip to Nepal and it looks pretty good. It includes all fuel, nearly all food and they're using the latest model 500 EFI Enfields with the gears and brakes on the correct side (how latest high tech is that?! hmy:)lmg wrote:I believe Overland Magazine is offering a Nepalese tour on Enfields for £2grand plus flights next year.
I would love to see the photos of your trip, and perhaps even a write up of your adventure.
I've got to say that I'm pretty tempted to give it a go. We really loved Nepal when we were riding back to London from Australia, in fact I said in my book that it should be law that all westerners go to Kathmandu at some time in their lives.
The Overland guys have organised all kind of stays with villagers and some Gurkhas. it's not just about riding in the mountain or jungle, Nepal has so much more to offer. The scenery is fantastic but the people are the best bit.

Everyone I've known who has visited Nepal has said how wonderful it was
I looked at going to Morocco with British Bike Tours last year but never got the time to go. They also do Nepal at similar prices - not bad considering the experience and the suppport

the trip cost with all accommodation, doctor, mechanic truck to carry gear and flights
was £2300 .
you also need a visa that £100 .
spending money it would be hard to spend more then around £200 for the two weeks
this was with Blazing Trails, they also do south Africa
as for 40 bends per 1km thats a understatement!!!!

Nepal is great. There are loads of tours out there on Enfields. The Overland one does ,look good value though at £2000 in all evening meals, breakfasts etc. But the most important thing is their focus on really 'experiencing' a country rather than just riding around in it.

I'm tempted by the overland one myself. Seems pretty reasonable. But then I have no idea of the costs in Nepal?
How much would it be to hire a bike for a couple of weeks, can't imagine finding somewhere to stay or food would be expensive and do it on your own steam.
I must of spent 2 grand on a few weeks in Europe each summer.
