Ireland/Northern Ireland longest day ride out

Post by Flintlock »

Ok, as a follow on from Moorso's post i am testing the water to see who is up for this. We have been smitten with bad weather and as a result poor turn out over the last two years. So early plan (subject to change)

Friday 21st June

Meet at cafe beside BP station at the end of the M1 at 8am

Make a bee line for Enniskillen and stop at McDonalds (9am), any ABR's from the westcan meet up with us here

Enniskillen to Belcoo, across to Derrygonnelly, Belleek, then into Donegal

Cross the border into the North again at Pettigo then over to Castlederg, up to Limavady down through the Sperrins and end up at the Sheperds Rest camp site & pub where those wishing to avail of an overnighter can do so.

It will be a mixture of roads, including a bit of unsurfaced, will also hope to include a couple of beaches (tide permitting). Those not wishing to do the unsurfaced can meet up at a pre arrenged location after .

I reckon the total milage to be around 350-400 miles

Let me know your thoughts

Cant commit at this time, but if I can I will :(

Hopefully the weather gods may look favourably on this one as its a mile muncher of a ride out.

Will let you know nearer the time, but I'm sure we'll meet before that
If I'm not online.............

I'm probably out on the Bat Bike

Hi Flintock

I hear what you're saying....would want to be riding out through the rain that was on alst night!! You'd like to think that on 21st June the weather would be alright  but I don't want to put a scuzz on it!!

Probably won't be up for the real 'off-road' stuff....but determined to do something for the solstice run...so I should be there :cheer:

With that G8 thing on Fermanagh will probably be a no-go area with the amount of peelers that are sure to be knocking about.
