I'm new here so hope I'm not out of line but would be interested in this. Fairly flexible on dates

Strata Florida next month (may 2013)

Post by Growls »

I've meant to do strata florida for years (in a 4x4) but have never got round to it so I've only ever seen photos.

How doable is it on a big trail bike? Or is it more suited to lighter bikes?

Cheers

Cheers lads, it looks great but probably beyond me until i get some practice on the dirt. I'd rather tackle it in a 4x4 first as I don't like the idea of all that water.

Go on... Give it a go... What's the worst that can happen.

I think I have some other pics on my profile if you want to have a look.

Did it June and November last year... Very different ride when it is flooded. When it isn't though, it's not as bad as it looks. In June I think there were only a couple of crossings that came above the sump. November... Now that was a different story :)

Get some practice and give it a go, it's well worth it.

I really wouldn't worry about it, it's a simple ride with the odd section where bit more care should be taken. Most of its on fire roads.a good entry level ride :)
Plenty of other tracks in the area to fill the day also. I used to run a 4x4 school in the area a few years ago and it's one of the best area's in the uk
