Gents, me and a mate are a definite on this, just sorted out the whole work thing this morning, we're planning to stay up there for the following week as well, from Skye we will probably be doing a bit of island hopping - not sure whether we'll head north and back over to Ullapool or south and back into Oban. Any/all welcome to join us on this leg, the more the merrier
Also, will be riding up from Bolton on the Friday morning if anyone wants to meet up on the way?

No plans yet, prob do the full run of 'Rest and be Thankful' south, the split from there. Take it as it comes.
If anyone wants GPX files, i got them, but we prob wont use them once we are into North West Scotland. From then on it'll be, where ever looks good!

The ride from camping at Kingshouse to Applecross.
From Kingshouse (PH49 4HY) travelling on A82 through.....
Glencoe and over the Ballachulish Bridge,
North Ballachulish,
Onich,
along the side of Loch Linnhe to Fort William.
still on A82 thro Invergloy along side of Loch Lochy to Invergarry.
Onto A87,
Along side of Loch Garry to Bun Loyne.
Along side of Loch Cluanie on the old military rd to Shiel Bridge.
Along Loch Duich to Dornie.
At Auchtertyre turn onto A890 to Achmore and Ardnarff on side of Loch Carron.
At Strathcarron, turn onto A896 to Lochcarron village.
Theres a couple of cafes and a Spar shop, so we stock up here as its the last shop we'll see before Applecross camp. Also a Petrol station.
Then starts the climb to Applecross on the (Bealach na Ba) Pass of the Cattle.
This route takes us over some great bridges and has amazing scenery all on great windy roads. Lots to look at, lots to see, lots of stops for photos!
Google Earth this route on street level...Amazing!!

Done that route a couple of times, will never tire of it, cant wait :cheer:
I might stay up there for a few more days and perhaps take in some of the islands, if the weather is kind , I can't think of any where else in the world I would sooner be.
Not excited or anything, but is it too soon to start packing? :woohoo:
Now this could be an excuse to buy some more camping gear..
