Springs do the main suspension job, the oil does the damping.
Add more than the specified amount of oil and you risk blowing the seals. Upping the viscosity of the oil just slows down the damping rate.
Hagon Progressive Springs improved the front end of my F650GS.
majority telescopic forks, like your g650, have progressive air spring - air gap, you want more progressiveness, you reduce air gap, that's why you have to increase air gap, installing progressive springs. if it were so wrong, manufacturers would not use that for different set-up, same model bikes.
if hagon springs improved your front end, original springs stiffness was not for your weight. I understand you barely go off road, otherwise you would not have been so happy.
every bike comes with an owners manual, and the first thing they ask rider to do is to set the sag right. the very majority forgets about sag.
those progressive hagon springs are the same as pills to suppress the symptoms, not to cure the cause.
