Re: Insurance / Legal advice wanted
I thought that under UK law it is only permitted to have one insurance policy per vehicle. How will the new owner be able to insure the bike if the old policy is in effect or does the existing policy just get quietly cancelled without a refund.

Have a look at the small print detailing how much of a refund you get back when you cancel. On mine I get sod all after 6 months so it seems as if you've got the same kind of deal with the complication that you haven't actually paid all of the original figure off yet.
It'd probably be a bit clearer if the bike was written off and they said they were deducting the amount outstanding from the settlement?

I've bought lots of bike and - policies and nearly every time, the small print says anything approaching 6 months use of a 12month cover - no refund or minimal.....but that's how it is - certainly NOT pro - rata!!!
