yep...bang on! i suffer from a bad back and have used nearly every type of air bed going but the Exped wins hands down.

I have the Exped Synmat 9 in large, its fantastic.

Yep exped again, i,m 16 stone and sleep on side and i have never been so comfortable in a tent , snore like a good un... and they are warm . They pack down to a reasonable size and weight in my book a good investment

Thanks all for the info. I went to Wales yesterday and camped out for the night. The tent was great , the sleeping bag was warm but mummy type and did not like it, my pillow was crap  and the air bed I had was thrown away when I returned this afternoon :woohoo: . Will be looking at the exped . The 400 mile ride was great! ;)

I have the bog standard exped air mat, packs down to about the size of a beer can, first night I pumped it up too hard and it was uncomfortable as hell, best with only 30% inflation, just enough to keep me off the floor. you'll have to experiment but they are worth the money, if I was to be camping in colder conditions then I'd go for the down or synth filled

I weigh around 12st and use an Exped Downmat 7 dlx. I could never sleep well before I bought it...now I go out like a light. Packs up small, and when you inflate it, lean on it with your weight on your hands, so that when your hands are not touching the ground (through the mat)- then you have found your correct inflation pressure.

I bought one of these & used it @ the Midlands Rally.
To my Surprise :-
Realy good, strong,heavy duty Quality.
Very comfortable as not ribbed but pocketed construction.
Easy blow up by mouth with big one way valve.
Easy deflate with even bigger valve circumferencing the one way valve.
Branded boxed item.
Lighter but not flimsier than my canvas/rubber bed & no rubber/chalk smell.

I'm fussy on quality but for a tenner this is good.
I've thrown the box away so can't remember the brand name.
Repair outfit in case of punctures.(unlikely unless it catches a sharp object with force)

Brand is KINGFISHER.
Lightness is everything.
