Not this time as I had a wedding to attend to and to be honest it was nice to have a couple of days off the bike. Been loads of times before and really like the place.

I wore Akito desert pants through Africa. Lasted really well.

The knee armour floated about a lot so I discarded it.

If you want a hot weather suit to last a long overland trip that you don't mind binning or leaving behind when you've finished, the Desert Suit is good.

I bought mine second hand off ebay.

I'll post some pics I picked it up from Hein Gericke, they have a jubilee offer on till 10 or 11th I think spend over 250 get 60 off. Pretty much any suit though is well over that price.

P.S ARE YOU CALLING ME A DOPE!! :cheer: :cheer:

Really? I've had my eye on the RST suit for weeks glad I waited although I bet my local GG won't have any in, I wonder if I order now whether I'll get the cheap price when it arrives?

PS. No of course not, that wouldn't be dope.

I have used Akito stuff before, the stuff was about as waterproof as a teabag but it did keep me safe when I lowsided at 70mph and slid a goodly distance down the road a few years ago. After this the trousers needed to be put back together with gaffa tape so I could ride home but the jacket was still wearable, if a little shabby looking so Akito stuff is good for the price in my experience.

I bought the RST trousers yesterday and the quality seems to be as good as my Halvarrsons kit which is twice the price.

They have RST in stock in Custom Lids Newcastle and I did get a discount too.

I have the Akito desert suit
Cheap but you only get what you pay for !! material failed on trousers at the waist left side ( pal has one his also failed there)
I would not buy one again The RST looks much better value for the £ money.
having said all that it did what i needed it to do at the time and was worth the money to me simply for that (trip down to the sahara)
One has just splashed for a KLIM suit
