Hello from the Midlands!

Post by Poulton »

Hi All,

Only stumbled across this fine publication (and forum) a couple of days ago - Have been riding a r1200gs for quite a while now, done a couple of big road trips and fancy a foray into some of the mucky stuff!
Have been a long time BIKE mag subscriber - recently booked myself a place on their "reclaim our trails" event at walters arena for my first dip into off roading, I'm told the GS will be fine there on "dual purpose" tyres, I currently have metzeller tourance's on mine - will these suffice in the opinion of you more experienced types? i really don't know what to expect.

Anyway, id be keen to get out on some ride outs soon - looks to be a really good community on here!

Cheers for now

Try the Heidenau K-60 Scout M&S. You will never look at any tires again.

Greetings from Essex-under-Water
Enjoy the Walters Arena, I have been off road on tourances, they are ok for dry loose gravel and hard packed dirt trails, but would struggle with anything else.

Welcome from sunny Suffolk ,
Shame you never found us a little sooner for you could have done all the offroading you wanted in a day for free and not the £165 for reclaim our trails , AT- The Norfolk Rally with a 10 hour 220 mile trail ride and lots of laughs way intro to offroading .
Happy mud plugging . :) Keith - Kgbbiker
